On May 7, 2025, India launched Operation Sindoor in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. The operation targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, reportedly eliminating over 100 terrorists.
In response, Pakistan initiated drone and missile strikes on 15 Indian military sites. India’s defense systems, including the S-400, effectively neutralized these threats.
Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, visited injured soldiers in these hospitals, acknowledging their sacrifices and boosting morale amid the escalating tensions.
The conflict resulted in civilian casualties on both sides. International bodies, including the UN, expressed concern and urged both nations to exercise restraint to prevent further escalation.
Amid mounting international pressure, India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire on May 10, 2025. Both nations claimed victory, with leaders addressing their respective countries to bolster national morale.
