The makers of SS Rajamouli’s much-awaited magnum opus Varanasi have officially locked the film’s release date. Headlined by Mahesh Babu, the pan-Indian spectacle is set to hit theatres on April 7, 2027.

Directed by SS Rajamouli, Varanasi marks the first-ever collaboration between the visionary filmmaker and Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. The film also features an impressive ensemble cast including Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, further raising expectations around the project.

Backed by SS Durga Arts and Showing Business, Varanasi is positioned as one of the biggest Indian films in the making. The announcement was accompanied by a striking new poster, shared by the makers, which depicts a meteor crashing into Earth, hinting at an apocalyptic and high-stakes narrative.

The ambitious scale, combined with Rajamouli’s reputation for epic storytelling, has already made Varanasi one of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema.
