After a gap of sixteen years, musicians Bruce Lee Mani and Rzhude David are set to reunite on stage in Chennai, marking their first performance together since 2010. Former bandmates, the duo will perform an intimate acoustic set, opening a new live music series focused on stripped-down, personal performances.
Sixteen years is a long time in the life of musicians — long enough for bands to dissolve, careers to evolve, and creative paths to diverge. Yet, when Bruce and Rzhude reunited earlier this year for an acoustic performance in Bengaluru, the chemistry between them felt effortless, surprising even the artists themselves.
“Rzhude and I last played together in 2010. It’s been sixteen years since we stood on stage as bandmates,” Bruce said, reflecting on their journey. That Bengaluru performance became the catalyst for taking the collaboration further and bringing it to Chennai.
The upcoming show promises a raw, unplugged experience, allowing audiences to reconnect with the duo’s music in its most intimate form. For longtime fans, the reunion is a nostalgic moment, while for newer listeners, it offers a rare glimpse into the shared musical history of two seasoned artists returning to where it all began.
