Delhi Airport has urged passengers to stay updated on their flight statuses due to changing airspace conditions. The airport authority stated, “Passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines for the latest updates and alternate travel arrangements.” Efforts are being made in coordination with airlines and Air Traffic Control (ATC) to minimize disruptions .
In response to the heightened security situation, the Civil Aviation Ministry announced the closure of 24 airports across northern and western India, including those in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. This precautionary measure aims to ensure the safety of passengers and airport personnel .
The closure of these airports has led to significant disruptions in flight schedules. At Delhi’s IGIA, over 90 flights were canceled, and more than 200 experienced delays. Airlines are working to accommodate affected passengers and are advising travelers to check for real-time updates .
The escalating conflict has prompted several international airlines, including Lufthansa and Air France, to avoid Pakistani airspace. This rerouting has resulted in longer flight times and increased operational costs. Passengers traveling to and from Asia are advised to check with their airlines for potential delays
