India Charges Pakistan-Based Militant Groups in Pahalgam Attack

Srinagar, India:
India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has formally charged two Pakistan-based militant groups and six individuals in connection with the Pahalgam attack that took place in April this year in Indian-administered Kashmir, leaving 26 people dead.

Details of the Attack

The attack occurred in the tourist town of Pahalgam, a popular destination in Kashmir. The brutal assault targeted tourists and caused widespread fear, bringing nuclear-armed India and Pakistan to the brink of war. India has blamed Pakistan for orchestrating the attack, an allegation Islamabad denies.

Groups and Individuals Charged

The Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a United Nations-designated terrorist organization, and The Resistance Front (TRF) have been charged with planning, facilitating, and executing the Pahalgam attack.

Six individuals linked to these groups have also been formally charged under anti-terrorism laws. The case is being handled by India’s National Investigation Agency, which is responsible for investigating terrorism-related offenses.

Pakistan’s Response

As of now, the Pakistan government has not issued any comment regarding the charges leveled by India. The situation remains sensitive, with regional security concerns heightened following the attack.
